Neighbours complained about the noise and mess caused by the skip
A nuisance neighbour has been jailed for using his front driveway as a scrap yard despite repeated warnings from the local authority.
Patrick Oliver Cusack, of Pentland Close, Golders Green, dumped waste and debris from his work as a builder into a skip at the front of his home.
The tradesman ignored countless warnings, planning notices and even a High Court injunction over two years before he was jailed.
In 2008 he was fined £2,500 and made to pay £2,500 in costs for breaching a planning enforcement notice ordering him to remove the skip.
Following repeated appearances at court over the next two years, in which he never removed the industrial bin, he was summoned to the High Court in October 2011.
Cusack was given a two month suspended sentence for two years with costs of £2,800.
An injunction was granted preventing him from continuing to operate the builder’s yard but again the order was ignored.
Cusack was finally referred back to the High Court on September 17, when he was jailed for two months with costs of £5,444.
