Cbeebies star Andy Day will take to the stage to raise cash for a Barnet based children’s charity next month.

Andy will perform in a slapstick show called Big Box of Bananas on Saturday, October 20 in a bid to raise hundreds of pounds for Noah’s Ark.

Andy is an ambassador for the charity which supports children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.

Speaking to the Times Series Andy said: “Last year, I saw firsthand how Noah’s Ark’s work really supports families.  I visited a little boy whose dying wish was to meet a CBeebies TV presenter.

“It was amazing to see the smile on his face. It was a very emotional time for the family and I was extremely humbled to be a part of it.”

In the show, Andy and his co-star Mike James find a box which they are unable to open. They make it their mission to find out what is inside and end up having the adventure of their lives.

Speaking about the show Andy said: “It’s fun, interactive, full of music, very silly and of course it’s all for a good cause.

“I love live performance. It’s always different and the feedback and instant response you get is magical.

“It’s an absolute thrill knowing that you are raising money for such a great cause and helping raise awareness is very important too, there is nothing like a bit of comedy or a good show to do that.”

Big Box of Bananas will start at 4pm at the artsdepot in Nether Street, North Finchley. Tickets cost £10 and can be bought via the box office on 02083 695 454
