Arsenal defender Andre Santos has been banned from driving after he was caught at speeds of up to 145mph.
The 29-year-old, of Church Mount, Barnet, failed to stop for police, who caught the footballer speeding in his black Maserati at Stirling Corner and then the A1 and M25.
Hendon Magistrates Court heard today that the Premier League star had been unaware of officers trying to pull him over as his music was on so loud.
Police first pursued the Gunners player as he accelerated hard after passing a speed camera on the A41 towards Stirling Corner on the morning of August 17.
During subsequent attempts to pull the sports car over, police estimated the vehicle was travelling at speeds of between 135mph and 145mph.
He was eventually arrested near Arsenal’s training ground in Hertfordshire.
Santos pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention today. He was banned from driving for one year and ordered to pay £3,600 in fines and costs.
