Two schoolchildren are celebrating after achieving a music scholarship as part of the Mayor of London’s fund for young musicians.
Cornet player Ben Winstanley, ten, from Sacred Heart School, and ten-year-old St Agnes pupil Dina Herbert, who plays the clarinet, are amongst 66 children who have been awarded a scholarship across the capital.
The young musicians will now receive four years of instrumental tuition at school and a music centre, as well as the opportunity to perform and attend concerts.
The Mayor's Fund for Young Musicians (MFYM) aims to support 600 children through the scheme by 2016.
