Police hunt Finchley robbery suspect who fled with one shoe

Two men armed with a "stun gun" attempted to raid a house in Finchley Central yesterday evening.

One of the suspects fled the scene wearing only one shoe, while another man was arrested.

The owner of the house, off East End Road near the junction with the North Circular Road, is believed to have advertised a number of smart phones on trading website Gum Tree.

Barnet Police have not revealed the exact location of the property over fears of copy cat incidents but the force said officers were called to the home at 6pm.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and is being detained at a north London police station.

Officers also recovered what they believe to be a stun gun.

A second man, described as African Caribbean, six feet tall and aged between 20 and 25, ran away from the scene but left behind one of his shoes.

Witnesses are asked to call Barnet Police on the non-emergency number 101 with information.
