A song composed in memory of legendary Finchley man Horace White is sweeping the online music scene.

Singer songwriter Robert John Puzey, who has worked with artists including Billy Ocean and The Nolans, penned the memorial anthem in the wake of the 54-year-old’s death last week.

The ‘Horace of Finchley Tribute Video’ has been watched nearly 900 times since it was uploaded to YouTube two days ago.

Popular Horace, of the Grange Estate, East Finchley, died last Monday after he collapsed outside the Whittington Hospital, in Archway.

He was extremely well known in the North Finchley area, where he hung around outside shops and chatted to passers-by almost every day for three decades.

A Facebook group set up in his memory has attracted nearly 10,000 ‘Likes’.

His funeral is set to take place at Islington Cemetery, in East Finchley, on Tuesday, October 9.
