Mourners arrive for Finchley legend Horace White's funeral

Mourners are arriving at the Islington Cemetery in East Finchley for the funeral of popular Horace White.

An open coffin will be held at 11.30am before a service for the 54-year-old begins at about midday.

Extra security has been drafted in to manage large crowds expected at the send-off and Metropolitan PCSOs are directing those already arriving for the service.

Horace’s funeral is the only one scheduled to take place at the cemetery today.

Family, friends and acquaintances of the enigmatic figure are arriving in bright colours, as his family asked.

The sun is shining on the High Road cemetery and people are smiling and chatting on their way in, with several discussing their memories of the legendary North Finchley regular.
