An Edgware church is holding a free gospel concert on Saturday to mark its 50th anniversary.
St Peter’s Community Church, in Stone Grove, will host the Jesus House Lion of Judah choir for the concert which will start at 7.30pm.
It will mark the end of a week of events to celebrate the church’s 50th birthday.
Events have included a table top sale and bingo on Saturday evening as well as a history exhibition which is running until Friday.
The week of festivities started with a packed service on Sunday during which the vicar, Revd Simon Rea, thanked God for his faithfulness to the church over the last 50 years.
Following the service Henry Acquah, Olympic torchbearer and church member, led the congregation outside for a balloon released.
Attached to the balloons were notes inviting the person who found them to make contact with the church.
So far there have been responses from as far afield as Chatham and Rochester.
