A schoolboy was hit by a motorbike on a busy Finchley high street this afternoon.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the collision in Ballards Lane shortly after 4pm.
Officers reopened a section of the road between Hervey Close and Redbourne Avenue, which was closed off until about 5.30pm while paramedics treated the driver of the bike and the boy.
The London Ambulance Service confirmed it was called to the collision at 4.05pm. Firefighters also assisted with the incident.
Witnesses rushed to the aid of the young victim, who was reportedly conscious when paramedics arrived.
Lin Zhang, who works at Herbal Inn in Ballards Lane, said: “I heard a bang and when I looked out there was a crowd of people around him. The paramedics were here very quickly but it was a good hour before the road was reopened.”
Another witness, who did not want to be named, said she saw the boy being taken into an ambulance on a stretcher.
