An English student is hoping her snapshot will win her a place in the finals of an international beauty pageant.
Nadia Aumeer, of Station Road, Barnet, is one of 12 finalists competing in the Fresh Photographic heat qualifier for Miss England 2013.
The 19-year-old said: “My friend entered the competition last year and I thought it sounded amazing – but I never thought I’d get this far. I was shocked.
“Now I’m in the final I’ll definitely get a bit competitive to push myself further.”
The winner will receive a place in the Miss England semi-final in June next year, as well as a beauty pageant training day, an A4 print for her portfolio and one spray tan per month for a year.
The ultimate winner of Miss England 2013 will raise awareness for various charities.
Nadia, who took part in Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK earlier this year, said: “The feeling you get helping others is amazing. I’d really like to help charities and to raise awareness.”
In order to carry on in the competition, Nadia needs to be voted top three in a public vote. Voting details can be found on the Miss England website.
