A singer-songwriter is warming up her vocal chords as she prepares to share a stage with Joss Stone and Beverley Knight at a charity gig.
Raphaella Mazaheri-Asadi, 22, of Whetstone, will perform at The Brewery in Clerkenwell at the Global Angel Awards on Friday, November 9.
The awards ceremony will be honouring charitable businesses and individuals while raising cash for Global Angels Foundation which supports disadvantaged children around the world.
Miss Mazaheri-Asadi, an ambassador for Global Angels, said: “When I first found out about the charity I fell in love with everything it stands for – helping and supporting young people.
“I want to use my music to help people. I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs and I want to let young people know they can do that and still be cool and be themselves."
Miss Mazaheri-Asadi, who went to North London Collegiate School in Edgware, will perform at the awards ceremony as well as singing stars Joss Stone, Beverley Knight, Dionne Bromfield and more.
She said: “I’m really excited about the event – I’ve always looked up to Joss Stone and Beverley Knight.
“I’ve been rehearsing and I’m already thinking about what I’m going to wear.”
The pop and soul singer has been singing all her life and wrote her first song when she was just nine-years-old.
She said: “I was always driving my parents crazy listening to Annie and The Wizard of Oz back to back.
“Now I want to take my own music to as many people as possible. I’d really love to become an international star.”
Tickets for the event can be bought via the Global Angels website.
