Fans 'angry' after X Factor boy band cancel meet and greet at Brent Cross Shopping Centre

X Factor boy-band Union J were forced to cancel their meet and greet at Brent Cross Shopping Centre after too many fans turned up last night.

JJ, Jaymi, George and Josh were supposed to be at the centre at 6pm and had been busy promoting the event via Twitter yesterday.

The band tweeted: “LET EVERYONE KNOW! #MeetUnionJBrentCross WHOOOOOOOO! X”

But as the crowds waited at the shopping centre, Union J tweeted: “We are SO sorry, just about to leave BUT the security have told us we r not allowed 2 come as it’s a security risk. We feel awful. So sorry.X”

Many fans had been waiting hours to see the group who will perform on the ITV singing show this Saturday.

One fan tweeted: “Went to Brent cross to see @UnionJworld but security cancelled it! SO ANGRY! Me and my friends waited for over 5 hours!!!!!”

Another tweeted: “@UnionJworld I felt likee crying when i was@brentcross and they announced you wouldn't be able to comee:(”

A spokesman for X Factor said: “Union J really wanted to do the meet and greet at Brent Cross but so many people turned up, it just wasn’t safe.”
