Thames Water say burst water main in Hendon should be repaired by lunchtime

Thames Water is hoping to reopen The Burroughs, in Hendon, by lunchtime following a burst water main.

The burst water main wreaked havoc with rush hour traffic this morning after bursting at about 1am.

The problem was repaired by 6am but then another pipe, which runs alongside the one with the original problem, also started leaking.

Thames Water’s engineers are still working to repair this second leak and they hope to have completed the work by 1pm.

As a result of the disruption traffic is congested in Church Lane, Brent Street and The Burroughs.

Transport for London has confirmed that bus routes 143, 183 and 326 have been affected.

In a statement Thames Water said: “We’re really sorry for the disruption this is causing.”
