Lee Harrison admits that Underhill is more than just a stadium to him. For the former Barnet goalkeeper it is the place he has “always called home.”

Harrison spent 11 years of his career at Barnet in two separate spells and played more than 300 league matches for the club.

He returned to Underhill on Saturday for the final game at the Bees home of 106 years.

However, he was in the opposition dugout.

“It is a sad day,” Harrison said. The former Bees keeper is now on the coaching staff of Wycombe Wanderers – Saturday’s opponents.

“This is the place I have called home because I played most of my football here.

“There is so much character about Underhill. You will never hear an away fan moan about the place.”

He added: “I loved every minute of my time here. There were downs obviously but you wouldn’t get that anywhere else. I have so many good memories here. The supporters are fantastic and I have a lot of good friends at the club.”

Harrison, who had a testimonial for the Bees at Underhill in 2011, hopes the move to The Hive will remain a temporary one and the club can find a home back in Barnet.

But what is his favourite memory at Underhill?

“We played Norwich here in a League Cup game when they were a Championship side and we were 3-1 down with 20 minutes to go.

“I remember we clawed one back and then Sean Divine scored to level the game. It was going to extra time but then he went on and got the winner. We had knocked them out when we were dead and buried.

“The place went absolutely mad. Those are the memories that you can’t take back.”
