Sir,-I would like to pay tribute to Jason Debney, Thames Landscape Strategy Co-ordinator, for having organised the events which made celebrating the Richmond Petersham and Ham Open Spaces Act of 1902 so successful.
Having been involved with Richmond Society's commemorative plaque on the Terrace, I know how much work and energy went into the overall operation.
He originated with Mavis Batey, former President of the Garden History Society, the concept of arcadia, enshrined within this unique piece of national legislation, which symbolises the fight for all our precious open spaces.
The resulting Arcadia in the City 2002 will confidently attract millions of pounds of lottery money to enhance the view further.
Well done Jason.-Ron Berryman, The Terrace, Richmond Hill.
