THREE quarters of child car seats are badly fitted and could be dangerous, according to a recent survey.

Road safety experts from Bromley Council plan to combat this during Child Safety Week later this month, by offering parents a child seat check.

Experts will be available to check seats are properly fitted and give advice on buying and installing them.

Road safety officer Caroline Townsend said: "Not all seats fit all cars. It's a problem not all parents or carers are aware of.

"If parents are not sure, we can give them practical advice."

Experts can be found at Safeway car park, Main Road, Biggin Hill, between 10am and 3pm on June 18, and at St John's School, Maple Road, Penge, from 10am to 3.30pm on June 20. For alternative appointments, call 020 8313 4579.
