The Territorial Army’s 240 Transport Squadron, based in St Albans Road, Barnet, celebrated its February homecoming from a six-month tour of duty in Afghanistan with a medal parade at London’s City Hall last Wednesday. Among the 53-strong contingent was 22-year-old Barnet resident Dean Gillson, who has been with the Territorial Army for four years. He said he was proud to receive his medal, but did not feel heroic.
