• A violent attack on a mother-of-three left shoppers fearing they would be targeted by opportunist thugs. Lorretta Paterson, 50, was attacked during a carjacking along Finchley Road in Temple Fortune.
  • An exhibition focusing on the need to remember fighting heroes marked the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The opening of ‘Lest We Forget’, an exhibition hosted by the Royal Air Force Museum in Colindale, was attended by serving members of the forces, dignitaries and veterans, including 112-year-old Henry Allingham, the last surviving founding member of the RAF.
  • Hundreds of East Finchley residents faced a winter without gas after leaks were detected. Four weeks after the leaks were spotted on the Strawberry Vale estate, residents received letters saying the repairs could take a further 16 weeks.
