Four teenagers who attacked a 15-year-old boy with crutches and a baseball bat have been locked up.

Wood Green Crown Court heard how the victim was leaving Hendon Central underground station to meet friends when he saw a group of approximately 15 boys running towards him wearing bandanas over their faces.

He ran back into the station but as he got to the ticket barrier the gang caught up with him. He was hit over the head and fell to the floor before being repeatedly assaulted by different members of the group, who eventually ran away.

The victim was taken to hospital suffering from two bumps to the side and top of his head and a stab wound of approximately 1cm to his right thigh.

A 16-year-old boy from Haringey, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Wood Green Youth Court on Thursday, December 20 to be sentenced after pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent at an earlier hearing.

He was given two years and six months in a young offenders institute following the incident which took place on Saturday, November 19, 2011.

Three 15-year-old boys from Islington, Camden and Haringey, who also cannot be named for legal reasons, were found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent at an earlier hearing.

They have been locked up for three years in a young offenders institute.
