Marie Curie Cancer Care is appealing for volunteers to help collect for the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal in Barnet.

The appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest fundraiser which encourages everyone to give a donation and wear a daffodil pin in March.

Volunteer Anna Pitkin, said: “I will be organising the Barnet collection on daffodil day from the Barnet Spires Shopping Centre. I collected last year and really enjoyed the experience.

“So many people approach you to tell you about the support they’ve received from Marie Curie and the difference it made. It’s nice to know you’re helping other people.”

The money raised will help Marie Curie nurses to provide more free care to local people with a terminal illness in their own home and at the Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead which takes patients from six north London boroughs including Barnet.

To volunteer at The Spires in High Street, High Barnet, on Saturday, March 16, contact Marie Curie Cancer Care on 020 7853 3415.
