Three men who violently assaulted and robbed a group of people outside Finchley Central Tube Station have been jailed.

Edison Demushi, 22, Abdi Salan Darebiye, 23, and Mukhter Hassan, 26, began following a man and two women walking in Regents Park Road last November shouting after them “what have you got for us”.

As the male victim tried to explain they did not have anything to hand over, two men punched him in the face.

The third man came towards one of the women with his hands raised and shouting loudly, "give me what you've got".

The women ran to a passer by and clambered into her vehicle for safety before calling the police.

Meanwhile the male victim tried to run up Station Road but was chased by the gang, who caught up with him and began punching, pushing him to the ground and kicking him in the head.

He managed to escape again and hid in the front garden of a house in Station Close where he called the police.

Officers arrived within five minutes and arrested Hassan, Demushi and Darebiye.

The male victim was treated by paramedics and was kept in Barnet General Hospital overnight because of concerns he might have concussion.

On March 11 at Wood Green Crown Court, Demushi, of Inglis Barracks, Mill Hill, was jailed for 21 months for attempted robbery and actual bodily harm. Darebiye, of Stewards Holte Walk, New Southgate, was jailed for 14 months for attempted robbery and actual bodily harm and Hassan, of Squires Lane, Finchley, was jailed for eight months for affray.
