If the dreary August weather is making you feel gloomy, take a look at these adorable animals who are sure to put a smile on your face.

The cats, dogs, rabbits and hamsters currently live at the RSPCA in Southridge, in Packhorse Lane, Potters Bar, and desperately need to be adopted.

Cats Nelson and May and dogs Richie, Kayla, Jesse and Snoop are among the pets that are looking for new owners.

May is a two-year-old cat who was rescued from a house where the owner had too many animals to care for her properly. She is timid and a bit fearful of people, but relaxes after spending time with people.

Nelson is a nine-year-old cat whose owners were evicted from their property so unable to keep him. He is friendly, affectionate and volunteers at the centre describe him as “wonderful” for his age.

Anyone interested can visit the centre between 11am and 4.15pm every day apart from Wednesday and Sunday. Sunday, the centre is open from 1pm to 4.15pm.
