NatWest has announced it will close its Burnt Oak branch later this year.

The bank, on Burnt Oak Broadway, will close on November 9, with customers being referred to the Edgware branch 1.5miles away.

The company said a deal has been struck so customers can use the nearby Post Office to check their balance, deposit and withdraw money, and for business customers to get coinage.

According to NatWest, the number of transactions at the Burnt Oak branch has dropped by 26 per cent since 2011, and 62 customers use the branch on a regular weekly basis.

A spokesman said: “We are writing to all of our customers who use the branch, as well as displaying posters in branch to let them know of the closure.

“Between now and the closure date, we will engage with all of our customers, local businesses and the wider local community to make sure they are aware of the alternative ways of accessing their banking with us in the local area, and to answer any questions they might have.”
