Barnet Council transfers troubled rubbish collection service over to The Barnet Group
BARNET Council has transferred management of its troubled rubbish collection service to The Barnet Group.
A report by the authority’s anti-fraud team showed the refuse crew took cash from business owners without having a contract.
The Barnet Group will now be responsible for the bin service until further notice.
Street Scene’s 370 staff members were told of the news today. They will still be employed by Barnet Council.
An emergency meeting will take place on February 16.
