CHILDREN and families in Mill Hill were delighted to raise more than £400 for charity during a summer fete.

This year’s summer fete, held by Busy Bees nursery, in Mill Way, raised money for the national childhood bereavement charity, Winston’s Wish.

Winston’s Wish supports more than 40,000 children and young people across the UK, to rebuild their lives after the death of a parent or sibling.

Pupils enjoyed learning about different animals brought in by animal workshop, ZooLab, as well as a fun day on Saturday June 18.

Danielle Baker, nursery manager at Busy Bees in Mill Hill, thanked parents and families who supported the event.

Ms Baker said: “It was great to see so many smiles on the faces of our parents, children and families from the local community.

“The children particularly enjoyed being given the chance to handle and learn about the different animals and insects brought into the nursery by ZooLab, such as a snake, cockroach and a spider.

“It is the kind and generous donations from families and parents that continue to make a difference to families currently suffering from a bereavement.”
