THREE 21-year-old apprentices have joined a team working to build new homes in Colindale.
Stephen Harris, Kofi Donkor and Hok Lam Tang have recently started work as apprentices at Edition, a development being built on the former British Newspaper Library.
The site is near Colindale station and is run by Fairview New Homes.
Stephen Harris, 21, from Barnet, is working as an apprentice carpenter.
He said: “I was looking for a trade because I liked the idea of working with my hands, and I’m really enjoying carpentry work.
"It’s a good feeling to see people moving into the homes which I played a part in creating.”
Hok Lam of Colindale, an apprentice engineer, said: “I had no experience in the construction industry before, and I’m really enjoying it.”
The third apprentice, Kofi Donkor, from Colindale, is working as a painter and decorator.
Stephen Brown, area construction manager for Fairview, said a busy development is the “perfect environment for enthusiastic apprentices to gain hands on experience”.
