If Pokémon Go hasn’t taken over your free time then it will have certainly dominated conversations.

Now the different characters have taken over London’s RAF Museum, usually known for its legendary aircraft collection.

The museum is now also home to six Pokéstops located in areas of interest, popular now for players as they deliver items such as Pokéballs (to catch other Pokémon), Potions and Revives (to heal or revive a fainted Pokémon) and visitors can hunt many characters including Hypno, Drowzee and Spearow.

Head of digital experience at the museum, Kevin Carter, says: “My kids are gamers and they popped in to the museum last week and were excited about the huge number of Pokémon characters on site. Since then we have noticed a number of visitors playing the game here. As a free museum with free wifi, they are most welcome.”

If you would like another reason to visit the museum, or perhaps just an excuse, other features at the museum include the opportunity to climb inside the Spitfire MK16 and take the pilot’s seat, learn about the aircraft and see what it would have been like to fly a Spitfire until August 28. Or you can head to their Big Screen and watch the 2020 Olympic Games live from Brazil.

You can also watch The Red Baron, a play written and directed by Robert Gillespie about Manfred von Richthofen, one of the First World War’s aerial superstars, and how he deals with taunts by his comrades in arms about lack of female interest from July 27 until July 30.
