A BUDGET store will open in Edgware on the site of the closed-down Woolworths.
The 99p shop will move into the site on Thursday, less than a month after a 99p shop opened in place of Woolies in Burnt Oak.
The iconic chain closed early this year after it was hit badly by the recession.
Hussein Lalani, commercial director of 99p Stores, which is opening the shops, said he feels his brand "connects with the British public" in the same way that Woolies did.
"Woolworths started out as a six-pence shop with everything at one price and we believe we are now the 21st century version of this", he said.
"We feel proud to take over the mantle and consider ourselves custodians of the Woolworths brand."
The Edgware shop will create 30 new jobs.
