THREE people have been taken to hospital after being injured in a road crash this afternoon in Golders Green.
Emergency services were called to the smash involving two pedestrians and a car in Finchley Road at about 1.30pm.
Police sealed off the road both ways at the junction with Golders Green Road, close to Golders Green Tube station, while ambulance crews treated the three people.
The London Ambulance Service sent two crews and a duty officer to the scene. Paramedics treated a 92-year-old woman for a head injury and the 21-year-old woman driver for a broken leg.
Both were taken to the Royal Free Hospital, in Hampstead, as a priority.
A second pedestrian, believed to be a 23-year-old man, was treated by Hatzola, a volunteer emergency medical service which deals with patients from the Jewish community.
He was taken by the service to hospital with a dislocated shoulder, police said.
Officers said none of the injuries are thought to be life threatening or life changing.
The London Fire Brigade also sent a crew to the scene as a “precautionary” measure.
Crash investigation officers believe a mechanical fault with the car may have been the cause of the collision, but are continuing to look into the incident.
The road reopened northbound at about 3.30pm although the southbound carriage way is expected to be closed for up to another hour while investigations are carried out.
Traffic reports are advising drivers to expect delays in the area.
Bus routes 13, 82, 245, 260, 328 and 460 have been on divert in the area, and bus tickets are being accepted on the Underground.
