Meeting to discuss Iran's treatment of women being held in Golders Green

WOMEN are holding a meeting today to discuss the Iranian regime's treatment of women.
The meeting, entitled “women led resistance against misogynist mullahs” will be held between 2.30pm and 5pm at St Michael's Church, Golders Green.
Women have been central to ongoing protests against the regime, both here and in Iran.
A hunger strike last year outside the American Embassy to urge the US to protect their families in Camp Ashraf in Iraq was female-led and the president elect of Iran's “government in exile”, Maryam Rajavi is also a woman.
This reflects decades of the Shahs' rule where females in general became more educated and gained higher positions in society.
However since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, women in Iran say they have found their independence curtailed and are not considered equal to men in some areas such as rights to inheritance and the value of their testimony in court.

The mullah's regime in Iran is the most brutal and supressive regime against women.
I am very pround of those Iranian women who are fighting this regime.
The picture of Suddabeh on hunger strike shows that they will eventually replace this barbaric regime with a democratic and secular regime.
It is good that this is brought to peoples attention by your article.

What we have seen during the past 8 or 9 month protests in Iran is a vivid testimony to the fact how women been playing a major role in Iran.
As a man I think I have to pay huge tribute to all women who have been the dynamic driving motor of current protest and uprising.
I think they not only deserve the outstanding support for British women but men too.
