A YOUTH board is being set up to offer teenagers an opportunity to have their say on how a leading North Finchley theatre is run.
The idea has been launched by artsdepot, in Tally Ho, with the aim of getting young people involved in the future of the diverse arts centre.
Bosses are looking for 12 people aged 13 to 19, or up to 25 for people with learning disabilities, to become members and voice their opinions on all areas of the venue, including marketing, programming, education, the café and front of house.
Tom Wilton, education officer at artsdepot, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to make a difference to their local arts centre.
“We want to hear their opinions on everything; from the shows we put on in the theatre to the food we sell in the café. I’m really looking forward to hearing what the board members come up with; their input could make a real difference to the venue.
“They also get something back in return - by working alongside the artsdepot team, they will gain transferable skills in the workplace and inside knowledge on how the venue functions.”
Board members will meet on a monthly basis and there will be an opportunity for them to see shows at other venues, organise a youth festival, as well as gain an accredited arts award.
Anyone interested in taking part can download an application form from the artsdepot website at www.artsdepot.co.uk. The closing date for applications is April 19.
