Pupils from East Barnet School attend North London Higher Education Fair
THOUSANDS of schoolchildren attended Middlesex University’s Hendon campus to find out more about higher education.
Around 3,000 Year 12 pupils from around the borough were given a taste of university life at the North London Higher Education Fair on Wednesday March 16.
As well as finding out more about courses on offer at Middlesex, students met representatives from other universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Birmingham and Liverpool.
They also had the chance to speak to people from London Fire Brigade, British Army, Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.
Schools and colleges attended the event including Barnet College, Hendon School and East Barnet School.
The fair is one of a number of events held by Middlesex University to promote the benefits of university education and provide career advice to schools in North London.
Marta Topornicka, the university’s schools outreach manager said: "Working with local schools to promote university life is a massive part of what we do here at Middlesex and we hope the chance to talk to universities from all over the country will have given our visitors some great options to think about.
"Deciding whether to go to university is a big decision for local young people, so getting good advice about courses, fees and funding is a step in the right direction."
Middlesex's North London Higher Education Fair is organised in partnership with the London Boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.
