Finchley man sentenced for illegal immigration advice

An unscrupulous immigration adviser working in Finchley was sentenced yesterday for operating illegally.

Anil Sanghani, 55, who ran Law Associates in Ballards Lane, was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and ordered to pay £3,750 compensation to his victims, as well as court costs, at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

The Office of the Immigration Service Commissioner investigated Law Associates last June after receiving a complaint from the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Sanghani, who lives in Hertfordshire, was found to be unregulated.
