News of a £40 million property entering the market in Hampstead Garden Suburb last week has been dwarfed by the emergence of a £100m mansion being sold in the same street.

Heath Hall, in The Bishops Avenue, is a restored grade II-listed building that boasts 17 bedrooms and its own panic room on 40,000 square feet of land.

The astonishingly-priced home in the road referred to as "Billionaire’s Row" includes two indoor swimming pools, a snooker room and garaging for ten cars.

Among the two acres of private gardens are embedded speakers to make the pricey property the ultimate garden party venue.

A standard mortgage on the luxury mansion, restored by million pound property experts The Ability Group, would set the buyer back a cool £20m but cash flow is unlikely to be an issue for any potential purchasers.

The road’s former residents include members of the Saudi and Brunei royal families, press magnate Richard Desmond and the president of Kazakhstan.

In news that puts the vast cost of the super home into perspective, London Mayor Boris Johnson today pledged £103m to boost house building, jobs and construction across the entire capital.

The funding is likely to create some 2,700 homes in 12 London boroughs including 132 new houses in Barnet.

Despite its nine-figure purchase price, the home in Hampstead Garden Suburb will not be the biggest in the area once restoration work on a palatial mansion in Highgate is completed.

The 65-bedroom Georgian-style palace will be the second biggest residential property in the UK, second only to Buckingham Palace, when it is fully restored.

Dating back to 1774, the estate was more recently used for filming BBC’s Fame Academy and was once put on the property market for £150m.
