Campaigners put an end to their library sit-in

All 16 protesters were met with claps and cheers as they walked out of Friern Barnet Library where they had been staging a sit-in over its closure.

The supporters of Friern Barnet Library Group remained locked in the building when it was locked shut at 1pm.

The group decided to leave the sit-in before it gets dark, and they left at 5.45pm. Barnet Council turned the electricity and water off earlier this afternoon.
