Traffic building after car rolls onto roof

Traffic is building up in a busy main road in Hendon after a car crashed and rolled onto its roof a short time ago.

The gold Peugeot 307 collided with a parked car and came to a stop upside down in the middle of Brent Street, between the junctions with Queens Road and Shirehall Lane, at about 10.30am.

Onlookers suggested a tyre on the vehicle may have blown.

The driver escaped with minor injuries but emergency services have closed off the street in both directions while they clear the wreckage.

Isaac Kaye, of Brent Street is at the scene and says: “It is complete chaos. There are buses stuck in the road unable to go anywhere and the traffic is building up all around. People are hooting their horns but they can’t go anywhere.

“It just looks like a freak accident – it is a miracle the guy came out alive when you see the state of the car.”
