Big Dance Bus visits Brent Cross

The Big Dance Bus hosts performances in and around it
Shoppers in Brent Cross will be treated to an afternoon of theatre and dance tomorrow.
The Big Dance Bus will be visiting the Brent Cross Shopping Centre between 1pm and 5pm.
The event will see groups from across the borough come together to entertain visitors with an array of routines, plays and workshops in and around the special bus.
Groups taking part will include the Israeli Dance Institute, Stonegrove Youth Club and Barnet Refugee Service.
The double-decker bus contains a dance floor, sound system and DJ.
The bus, which is a decommissioned London route-master, is part of the Big Dance 2012, a celebration of the UK’s cultural diversity in the run up to the Olympics.
Councillor Andrew Harper, cabinet member for education, children and families, said: “Bringing together both professional artists and emerging local talent will create an exciting and diverse afternoon of entertainment.
“With just weeks to go until London hosts the greatest sporting event on earth, it is encouraging to see so many local dance and theatre groups coming together to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games, all with their own unique artistic slant.”

However, we are told that Councillor Andrew Harper, cabinet member for education, children and families, said:
"Bringing together both professional artists and emerging local talent will create an exciting and diverse afternoon of entertainment."
Given that Councillor Harper is unlikely to have said that, I notice that the sentence was lifted by Barnet's Press Office from various Big Dance publicity, and seems to date back to a 2009 report of "RAPID" (Regeneration Arts Partnership of Intercultural Dialogue) which says it was a partnership, "bringing together professional and emerging interdisciplinary artists to create innovative new works developed with a diverse mix of communities and young people."
I can only find Councillors in Richmond and in Ken & Chelsea commenting on "Big Dance 2012" events, and their words seem genuine and knowledgeable.
Only in Barnet do we see council tax money paying for the Press Office to make up words that a Councillor did not say.
