Police are continuing to guard the scene of an East Barnet stabbing which left a woman in a critical condition last night.
Officers remained at a block of flats in Lancaster Road, this morning where the 48-year-old was attacked last night.
Police were called to the address at 7.15pm and found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso.
She was taken to a west London hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
A number of police cars, specialist murder investigators and one ambulance attended the scene yesterday.
One shocked neighbour reported seeing forensics officers enter the building this morning.
It is thought the flats where the attack took place are newly refurbished and rented.
A 65-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.
He is being held at a north London police station.
