Man seriously injured in suspected hit and run

A man is seriously injured following a suspected hit and run in Cockfosters.
Police were called just before 3.15am last night to find the man, who is in his 40s, in Cockfosters Road at the junction with Lancaster Avenue.
He was rushed to an east London hospital with a head injury.
Police are waiting for a full assessment of his condition.
Officers believe the man had been hit by a vehicle which did not stop at the scene.
The Collision Investigation Unit at Northolt is investigating and would like to hear of anyone who returned home last night with unexplained damage to their vehicle.
