As the Easter Holidays begin and the sun shines, students fret over the upcoming exams. I must confess, my mind is an egg of stress making my to-do list somewhat scrambled. Thoughts float around in head acting like dumbbells of procrastination, weighing me down like an unintelligent Smart car full of heavy Tesco bags. My proverbial car of a brain is taking a U-turn like Clegg to concentrate everything on my A levels.

The above paragraph is perhaps the thought-process of many students across the country. Most of the time we pile this stress on to our minds, creating obstacles like a mine-field of work. There are ways of reducing that pressure and anxiety.

One method I find quite effective is to take a soluble Paracetamol and half a glass of water. After putting the tablet in the water, the proceeding dissolving sound is a ‘FSHHH’ noise. I noticed, this ‘FSH’ sound is reminiscent of a calming tide.

So I closed my eyes, put the glass next to my ear and pretended I was on a beach somewhere sunny and as the tide rolls in, Im engulfed with a momentary sense of happiness. (NB: Only use Paracetamol if you have a legitimate need to use it.) A revolutionary concept some would say, perhaps it could rival holidays to places like Aya Napa minus the stench of sweat.

Interestingly, sweaty teens choose Lynx as their choice of deodorant which is the political equivalent of older people voting for the Conservatives. Perhaps this is down to the natural ‘Ying-Yang’ balance of the world. Lynx adverts are ‘excitable’ - a lustful tirade of women jumping on men, having sprayed themselves with Lynx.

The reality is, Lynx smells like foot fungi. It also lasts around 6 minutes and mixed with bodily odours it smells like outdated mince meat mixed with vinegar. Lynx and the Conservatives have mastered the art of making good propaganda.

In conclusion, stress is unhealthy, although doses of it like greasy fried chicken burgers are ok. But, importantly being at ease makes you think clearer. Letting it overcome you is a depressing thought, for after schooling its university then work. I once engaged in a sociological experiment of walking around in a ‘New Era’ hat and seeing the differing reactions on the street. Not that that’s got anything to do with stress but yeah. The truth is, if we have our ‘thinking caps’ on we’d realize stressing about life’s difficulties is futile.
