On July 16, I was admitted to Chase Farm Hospital for an operation to replace one of my knees. I was in the Canterbury ward for eight days and during my stay, which was at times extremely painful, I had the most friendly, caring and professional treatment from an always approachable nursing staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble.
My treatment included visits to other departments, including X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound and physiotherapy, all of which had the same consistent friendly and professional approach.
I was discharged on September 12 after having aftercare.
I would like to say thank you to all the staff at Chase Farm Hospital for making my stay as pleasant as possible under the circumstances.
I thank goodness for the NHS. It is a great organisation where such high standards of treatment are maintained by a staff who are under great pressure.
