In all the 13 years Andrew Dismore was MP for Hendon, not one single new property was built in Colindale for anyone. For Labour councillors to now oppose 28 in addition to all the other affordable housing being built in Colindale’s Pulse, Beaufort Park, Grahame Park, etc, is very rich of the Labour Party.
Mr Dismore has even scheduled a meeting with Grahame Park residents for people ‘worried about the regeneration’, a regeneration he did not manage to start in the 13 years he was in power.
He promises Labour would build more affordable homes. Based on his 13-year record, that would be one affordable home, not the significant numbers being talked about by the Conservatives.
What Mr Dismore, Labour councillors and Labour politicians do not grasp is that whilst they all go home to their Mill Hill mansions, Hampstead Garden Suburbs homes, the very Colindale residents they claim to represent battle on a daily basis with substandard property falling down around them, pest problems that permanently damage their health, etc.
Let those who have talked a lot and delivered nothing, keep quiet. The people of Colindale need action and the Conservatives should not be listening to the empty rhetoric of the Labour Party, who have delivered nothing in Colindale.
