Zena Sloam misquotes me in her letter (‘Lack of respect is deplorable’, Your Views, February 18). I never said I thought Andrew Dismore should not be invited to the Holocaust Memorial Day event.

On the contrary, as MP he should have been invited and it is my understanding that he was, but for some reason the invitation was not received.

I merely stated it was inappropriate to make a political issue out of it, as Zena Sloam herself is now doing.
