I am a mother with three young boys living in East Finchley and would like to invite those living in Barnet to join a Mothers’ March and Speak Out on Saturday, March 13.
We are assembling at 2pm Trafalgar Square and marching to Parliament Square. The week of International Women’s Day and Mothers Day is a good time to remember the survival of the human race depends on mothers.
Our work makes the world go round, but we get neither recognition nor resources. Just the blame when things go wrong.
Politicians will soon be vying for our votes in the election. Do any of them measure or value the work that mothers contribute to society? And if they do, what support, including financial, are they offering?
Together on the march will be full-time mothers, mothers who work the double day, asylum-seekers separated from their children, non-biological mothers, mothers fighting for justice for their loved ones, mothers of different incomes and occupations, races, passports, ages and sexual preferences. Fathers, partners, brothers, sons and any male carers who support mothers are welcome to join us. Bring your family, friends, neighbours, children. Fancy dress and musical instruments welcome.
