With reference to the article ‘Rare bird pulls in twitchers’ (Hendon & Finchley Times, March 4), I would like to point out the waxwing was feeding on the berry tree, not nesting.

Waxwings are winter visitors to Britain and breed in northern Scandinavia, across into Russia and North America. They can be attracted into gardens by planting berry-bearing trees and shrubs. They are particularly fond of the red berries of our native rowan (or mountain ash) Sorbus aucuparia.
