I would like to say how grateful I am for all the letters I am receiving regarding memories of actress Jean Simmons in the Cricklewood and Golders Green area for the book I am putting together. Tributes are coming from far and wide and in particular, from people in the area and the archive departments of Barnet and Brent.
I have recently found out Jean was evacuated to Somerset during the Second World War and I have had great memories sent to me from that part of the country.
It is also interesting to hear from people who attended the Aida Foster Dance and Drama School in Golders Green, where Jean trained in the Forties.
I look forward to more memories as and when I receive them and I am pleased it has brought back wonderful memories for those contacting me. Thanks again.
