BRASS does not represent residents

4:45pm Thursday 9th February 2006

I find it ironic that Peter Sawyer of Brass, Barnet Residents Against a Second Stadium urges Barnet FC to come clean on the ulterior motive for the safety works they need to do to ensure Underhill remains a fully functioning football stadium (Barnet FC should come clean', Letters, February 2), when he needs to look closer to home.

We have already seen the effect of these works being delayed by the club having to close the East Terrace due to the need to maintain the segregation of supporters, yet ensure that there are adequate toilet and refreshment facilties for all.

Surely it is about time Mr Sawyer of Brass (Barnet Resident Against A Single Stadium) needs to come clean about his ulterior motives and admit that Brass does not represent Barnet residents, that Brass are really the provisional wing of the local Conservative Party and that his ultimate aim is to engineer a situation by which the club will be forced to leave the borough.
