I am incensed with the council officials who think it is right that a man who has been living in his family house for 74 years should be forced to leave.
Where is the compassion? This man is 83 years old. An imposed change at this stage of life can’t be doing his health any good.
While I know there is a need for housing, and there are families on a long waiting list, I don’t think it’s right to force a pensioner out and maybe into an early grave to alleviate the borough’s housing problems.
So please, leave Mr Meakins to live in the house he has called home for so long.
