So great is the opposition to the Pinkham Way waste plant proposal that no one could be found to speak in favour of it at well-attended public meetings.

The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) continues to bulldoze its outrageous plan over thousands of affected people of Barnet, Haringey and Enfield, despite apparent promises of proper consultation to residents, 15 ward councillors, three MPs and the local representative on the Greater London Authority.

The imminent outline planning application from NLWA is still expected, even though accurate, honest and properly informed NLWA exhibitions will be required in the Alexandra, Bounds Green, Coppetts, Southgate-Green and Bowes wards before the clock starts ticking on the public consultation period, which should be substantially more than 21 days.

Moreover, the NLWA strategy and awaited planning application is out of sequence with the North London Waste Plan — clearly, the NLWA is trying to sneak its monstrous Pinkham Way planning application under the shadow of the North London Waste Plan, which does not complete the public consultation on Pinkham Way as a prospective waste site until spring 2012.
