I was saddened to read that we may lose the children’s farm at Belmont Farm (“Children’s farm forced to close after planning dispute”, www.times-series.co.uk September 28).

How can residents possibly complain about traffic to the farm when it has its own car parks and, arguably, there is more disturbance caused by parents dropping children and students at St Pauls School and Mill Hill School, not forgetting the monthly antiques fair and weekly church services?

In any case, who are these residents? There are hardly any houses neighbouring the farm.

Finally, I would like to point out to Barnet Council that the children’s farm is educational and introduces children to many different animals and birds from all over the world. Surely, it could assist the farm to overcome the planning objections in some way rather than stifle educational opportunities and private enterprise?
